I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling twenty two!

Hello lovelies!

Last month I celebrated my 22nd Birthday and had a really wonderful time. In amongst the exam period it was so nice to have a break.

The weekend before I was taken to the City of Cambridge as a surprise treat. I had never been before and the city is simply beautiful. Amazing architecture and atmosphere – it really reminded me of French towns with lots of creperies and ice cream parlours!

I was also amazed at how many bicycles were around…everybody cycles, and there were hundreds of bikes lined up along railings throughout the city centre. We stayed in the Marriott hotel just outside of the city, had dinner within their restaurant and then spent the evening in the queen sized bed watching films. It really was beautiful, even the journey there had views of fields of beautiful flowers covering the countryside. I couldn’t have asked for more and the British weather was perfect!

The weekend afterwards was Easter Weekend, as my birthday fell on Good Friday this year. Lots of chocolate eggs and bunny crumpets were consumed! My three favourite girls and I  booked into Afternoon Tea at a very posh hotel. It was a very beautiful day with an amazing view across the harbour whilst sipping champagne and munching on cake!

Following Afternoon Tea we headed to town that evening for a night of dancing. I really had such a fabulous birthday and am so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people!

I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed the day! Love to you all.

My 21st

Those of you who are regular followers of my blog, will be well aware that my 21st birthday was actually a good six months ago. In contemplating this I have therefore realised that I only have six months left until I turn 22…which is my scary age. Trust me kids, one day you are categorised as a “mid-teen” and the next minute you are ticking the “mid-twenties box. Still with the same confusion and misdirection as the sixteen year old you knew, yet expected to make “grown-up decisions.” Something I am not very good at!
Anyways off topic. So yes, my birthday was rather a long time ago, however I have not yet posted a proper description with glamorous photos as I usually do. Seen as my 21st was truly the most special birthday I have ever, and probably will ever have, it only seems appropriate to show off a little!
My Birthday lasted a whole week, with one of my best friends flying in from abroad on the Monday morning with celebrations not beginning until Saturday. My excitement first kicked off after a long work shift, when I arrived home in the early hours of the morning to find the living room partially decorated by my lovely mum, who was tucked up asleep upstairs. I found balloons, champagne, flowers and fairy lights all lit as I walked through the door. It was the best return home from work a girl could have asked for!

The following morning, my now wide awake mum, said she had another surprise for me and mysteriously drove me to a little cottage the other side of town. We knocked on the door and I was introduced to a lovely lady called Jennie, whilst still extremely confused over who this lady was and why I was at her house. Walking into the kitchen, it was a maze of rolling pins, cake tins, icing sugar and boxes. It soon became clear to me that this lady had made me a cake! However the cake that was revealed was nothing like I was expecting. This really was the most special part of my birthday! Isn’t it beautiful!?!

I spent ages looking for the perfect dress for my 21st. I just felt like it was a really big deal and better than my 18th as this was going to be the last special birthday until i turned 30. Which I probably won’t really want to celebrate! Therefore the dress had to be different, and not something I would wear on a usual night out. After three months of looking I had given up hope, simply finding dull, dark on trend winter dresses in all of the high streets and webpages. However in my final shop after a miserable Sunday afternoon of giving up hope, I had finally found it! Tucked away on the sales rack in UK store Republic (which is now USC for those English girls…) and only £30.00 down from £75.00.

It was sparkly, one of a kind and looked amazing with heels. I felt wonderful in it! Following the initial amazing surprises, I had a group of my favourite girls come around for champagne, followed by a meal out at a restaurant and then a night out in the clubs. It was a magical week and I was completely spoilt and so grateful for it!

I promised to upload some photographs of myself wearing some of the outfits I got for a brilliant price from the local charity shop, Scope. I went on a lovely night out in town with a small group of friends wearing one of the dresses so thought I would share a few of these photos with you also…
SAM_0157gfhg
Blue Cardigan bought for £4.00 worn with H&M dress which was £20.00 about a year ago and New Look heels.

Black sparkly dress bought for £6.00. This is in need of some gold jewellery accessorise however and I am unsure of what I am going to pair it up with.
SAM_0194
Blue nautical themed dress bought for £4.75 with the slight tear in the side repaired. This is also the item I wore out with my hair curled also.

I’ve also had a quick play around on “www.picnik.com” which is why the photos are edited as I love the vintage look that is going around photographs at the moment with applications such as “instagram”.
Hope you’ve all had a good week so far!

Merry Christmas lovelies xxx

Wednesday, 23 November 2011

Hello Everyone!
Well I am completely weighed down with coursework at the moment, but have finally managed to catch up with all of you in response to all your lovely comments! And I have taken the time out to write you another update...who wouldn’t prefer to catch up with you lovely people rather than write a report on IBM’s leadership strategy? Hmmm...
Last night I headed out to “Cheesy Tuesdays” which is basically a club night every week focused on music such as Britney Spears (the old songs!), Backstreet Boys, N*sync, Aqua, The Spice Girls...and even one or two Christmas songs! Do you think its slightly too early for Christmas songs or are you all far too excited about it? Despite the music being from when I was growing up throughout the 90’s, it still happens to be one of the best nights out at University!
SAM_1615
So this was the blouse I purchased last week to add to my “going out” collection. It was £20.00 from H&M and is perfect for either a night out with a black skirt, or a pair of jeans for going out for drinks! Paired once again with my £20 New look shoes...(I think these may deserve their own post soon to explain the comfort factor!) and my gold “peacock” necklace which I bought in the Accessorize sale for £6.50 over the summer. Result...

The little black skirt here is only £3.99 from H&M and a necessity in any University girls wardrobe! It can literally be paired with anything and makes you feel gorgeous immediately! The bag is as previously stated, £12 in New Look currently in a range of different colours!
However while I love spending my time dressing up to go out I really must carry on with my work! Keep smiling lovelies and I will respond to all your comments as soon as possible!
