Legally Blonde Moment

Hello Everyone.

Well I finally made it. Four years of studying is over and I am officially a First-class Graduate from the University of Exeter. I have never revealed on this blog where I studied due to privacy, but now that I have moved away I do not see this as an issue anymore! The last year has been really hard work but the skills I have developed through it are invaluable! Whilst I enjoyed my time there I am actually really excited that this is the first year in my life where in September, I genuinely have no idea what I am going to do and where my life will take me!

I celebrated my Graduation last month with the friends I made throughout the course and my family alongside me. We travelled down the day before and stayed in the student halls on the campus which were converted into hotel rooms during the Summer. That evening we went out for dinner with my parents, grandparents and boyfriend to celebrate followed by a cocktails just with my man afterwards. The next morning the ceremony took place at 12pm, followed by champagne, cupcakes and a pimms tent!

It was a really beautiful day and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I purchased my dress from Lipsy in Debenhams and my shoes from Marks & Spencer!

I hope you like the pictures.

I don’t know about you, but I’m feeling twenty two!

Hello lovelies!

Last month I celebrated my 22nd Birthday and had a really wonderful time. In amongst the exam period it was so nice to have a break.

The weekend before I was taken to the City of Cambridge as a surprise treat. I had never been before and the city is simply beautiful. Amazing architecture and atmosphere – it really reminded me of French towns with lots of creperies and ice cream parlours!

I was also amazed at how many bicycles were around…everybody cycles, and there were hundreds of bikes lined up along railings throughout the city centre. We stayed in the Marriott hotel just outside of the city, had dinner within their restaurant and then spent the evening in the queen sized bed watching films. It really was beautiful, even the journey there had views of fields of beautiful flowers covering the countryside. I couldn’t have asked for more and the British weather was perfect!

The weekend afterwards was Easter Weekend, as my birthday fell on Good Friday this year. Lots of chocolate eggs and bunny crumpets were consumed! My three favourite girls and I  booked into Afternoon Tea at a very posh hotel. It was a very beautiful day with an amazing view across the harbour whilst sipping champagne and munching on cake!

Following Afternoon Tea we headed to town that evening for a night of dancing. I really had such a fabulous birthday and am so lucky to be surrounded by such amazing people!

I hope you enjoyed the photos as much as I enjoyed the day! Love to you all.

Alice in Wonderland Afternoon Tea

Last week I had a wonderful afternoon in a very beautiful hotel. As one of the few remaining events I get to enjoy as a student before I graduate in a couple of months, I was invited to “Bake Society’s” end of year celebration. Do not get any ideas…I cannot for the life of me bake, and my cooking experiences are pretty much summed up by the wonderful Carrie Bradshaw;

“…he says the kitchen needs work. Of course, I don't know about that because I keep sweaters in my stove.”

However my lovely housemates bake very well, so I benefit from a number of cakes appearing on the kitchen sides after a long day of studying and was also invited along.

The afternoon was beautiful, with lovely little goodie bags and lots of wonderland decorations. A glass of Prosecco, Pimms  a chandelier and lots of cake and I was one very refreshed and happy girl.

I hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Mid-term “pick-me-up”

This weekend I headed back home for a little break from University. My final term assignments were handed in on Friday, and the next few start again on Monday so i thought I deserved to run away for a few days. One thing that University has taught me is how much I love my home. Being a military girl, we always moved around when I was a child so I really appreciate having a base to return too with a group of amazing friends and a lovely job.

On Saturday I had a wonder around town, my first shopping trip since before Christmas at least! Being so close to the end of my time reliant on Student Loans, meant that I decided to ignore my bank account and just enjoy pottering around. Here are a few of the things I purchased.

The first thing I picked up was another Topshop nail polish. Since purchasing the other three colours in my John Lewis order, I have fell in love with the range. Usually I get irritated with chipped nail polish only a few hours after it being applied, but this stays put for a good 2-3 days before showing any signs of wear and tear. I wanted to build up a more neutral collection of polishes, due to my soon advancement into the more professional working world. I found the image above on tumblr (find me; kelz002.tumblr.com) and loved the shade the make-up artist was wearing so I attempted to get as close to this as possible and I love the outcome. The shade I am wearing is called “Milkshake”!!

Secondly I picked up this beautiful ring from Accessorize. My mum was horrified that I was willing to spend £14.00 on it, however I wear a ring every single day so I think it worth the money. Other people may spend £20.00 on a necklace they only wear once or twice a year. I adored the sparkle in this as it hit the light and alongside the neutral pink nail polish I felt very elegant! At the counter my mum was also kind enough to pick up the sparkly shoe key ring on the right for me. £5.00 and a beautiful addition to my rather dull key collection at the moment!

Next was a trip to Boots where I wanted to pick up two make-up products that Beauty Gurus on YouTube have always raved about. First was the Maybelline Falsies Mascara, something I had heard only heard high reviews upon. I will admit that on only first application I can see why it is a favourite and the length it gave me was incredible. Secondly I purchased the Loreal SuperLiner in black. I had previously picked up their “Superliner Perfect Slim” pen, thinking this was the one many had spoken about but I really did not like the product. I kept ending up with a black smudged line just underneath my brow bone, where the product would not stay put. However after realising I had bought the wrong product, this thicker gel definitely stays on and creates the perfect cats-eye. Due to it being “3 for 2 mix-and-match” in boots, I also picked up the Real Techniques foundation brush. Once again I had noticed all of the YouTubers used these brushes, and I had always applied my foundation with my fingers so I wanted to give this a go. It is a beautiful brush and with the deal it meant I got the eyeliner for free as well.

Finally I picked up this beautiful handbag. I loved the colour as light blue is my primary shade when it comes to clothing. It suits me perfectly and going into summer I am looking for more candy colours, similar to this blue and the candy pink nail polish. This was £35.00 also from accessorise, I little bit pricey but I couldn’t resist. Now unfortunately it will stay at home until I return from graduation to be able to use it! But I shall continue to think about it over the next few weeks I am sure ;)

I hope you all had a lovely weekend like I did. I am now going to jump in the car and drive back to University for the last time! :)

Thank you for all your lovely comments.

Lots of Love
